At Qudrat Early Intervention Center, we provide a comprehensive occupational therapy assessment aimed at understanding how a child interacts with their environment. This assessment evaluates motor, cognitive, sensory, and daily living skills to design an effective therapy plan that promotes independence and holistic development.

💡 What Does the Assessment Include?

1. Initial Information Gathering

  • ● Parent interviews to understand the child’s behaviors and responses to sensory stimuli
  • ● Reviewing medical history and developmental milestones, including motor skills and self-care abilities

2. Observation in a Sensory-Prepared Environment

  • ● Evaluating fine and gross motor skills
  • ● Assessing cognitive skills, attention, and focus
  • ● Monitoring responses to sensory inputs (touch, balance, sound, smell, taste, vision, proprioception)
  •  

3. Standardized Sensory Tests

  • ● Using questionnaires and tools to measure over-responsiveness or under-responsiveness to sensory stimuli
  • ● Observing the child during interactive activities in a sensory room
  •  

Daily Living Skills Assessment

  • ● Eating: food selectivity and utensil use
  • ● Dressing: putting on and taking off clothes independently
  • ● Personal hygiene and bathing: brushing teeth, bathing, toilet use
  • ● Play: functional play and group play participation
